Carl Max Russell, 77, of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018.
He was born November 25, 1940 in Rogers to Clinton Max and Elizabeth Adams Russell.

He graduated from Rogers High School in 1958.
Carl married Jennifer Anne Ford on January 26, 1963 in Siloam Springs and together they joined the Peace Corps and served in India for two years. He was a 1968 graduate from the University of Arkansas, with a B.A. and earned a Bachelor of Architecture in 1971 and he was a member of the Acacia Fraternity. Carl worked as an Architect for the many years in Northwest Arkansas and designed numerous buildings throughout the community and the University of Arkansas. In 1982, he became a Boy Scout Leader with BSA Troop 142 and continued to serve as Scout Master for more than 35 years until the time of his death. During his years as Scout Master, 69 local Boy Scouts earned the respected Eagle Scout designation with his guidance and leadership.

His wife and parents preceded Carl in death.

He is survived by two children, Stephania Ann Pillarz of Riverside, Illinois, and Jason Brian Russell and wife Sara Butler Russell of Fayetteville; five grandchildren, Lizzy, John, Henry, Connor, and Charlotte; one sister, Karen Elizabeth Burks and husband Roy Burks of Rogers and several nieces and nephews.

Honoring his wishes, there is no memorial service planned. Carl loved the Buffalo River and the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Buffalo River Foundation, PO Box 55, Ponca, AR or https://www.buffaloriverfoundation.org/
