John Monroe Norfleet, 94, passed away July 31, 2019 at his home in Plainview, Texas.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 2 pm in the Chapel of First Baptist Church in Plainview.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm, Friday, August 3, 2018 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

He was born on the family farm in Hale County May 2, 1924, to W.R. Norfleet and Fannie (Norris) Norfleet. John brought his bride, Rosemary Caylor, to live on the home place where together they built a farming and ranching business, raised their children, and enjoyed a marriage of 70 years. John especially loved his involvement in the cattle business, ranching in New Mexico as well as running cattle in Hale and Lamb Counties. He was a stock holder in the Olton Feedyard for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church Plainview after 25 years as an active member of Valley View Church. He was most well-known for his integrity, kindness and patience. He was a role model and supporter to many, but most of all to his children and grandchildren. John spent his days nurturing his children and grandchildren, and was a reliable source of jokes, love and laughter.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary, daughters Kathie Cleveland of San Marcos, Cynthia Oles and husband David of Plainview, and Nancy Britton of Yamhill, Oregon, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son David.

Memorials may be made to SnackPak4Kids/Plainview, 701 Park Place Ave. Amarillo, Tx. 79101.
