Garland C. Dalton

MAYO, Oct. 7.--Garland Clayton Dalton, 32, died at his home here today after an extended illness.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Julia Dalton; 2 sons, Gerald and Larry Dalton; his mother, Mrs. Addie Dalton, all of Mayo; 4 sisters, Mrs. C.W. Humphries, Mrs. Eula Commander, both of Spartanburg; Mrs. Bob Clutter of Akron, O., and Miss Melba Dalton of Mayo, 2 brothers, Vernon Dalton of Raleigh and J.W. Dalton of Mayo.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 at the Mount Olive Baptist Church near Cowpens with the Rev. James Miller, the Rev. Paul Hayes, the Rev. Vernon McBee, the Rev. E.W. Buckner and the Rev. Claude Pruitt officiating.

Pallbearers will be L.O. Turner, Clarence Parris, Robert Peahuff, Dempsey Bonner, J.Y. Hicks and Perry Poteat.

Members of the Young Men's Bible Class are requested to meet at the church at 2:45 to serve as honorary escort.

The body will be at the home until the hour of services.

The Johnson Mortuary of Chesnee is in charge of arrangements.
