LATHAM Virginia "Ginny" Moore Ryan, 89, of Latham, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2018, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica with her loving family at her side. Born on February 17, 1929, in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and the late Gertrude (Schafer) Moore. She was a 1947 graduate of Philip Schuyler High School. Ginny married Patrick F. Ryan on November 26, 1950, in St. James Church in Albany, and the two cherished 67 loving years of marriage prior to her passing. They met dancing and they danced for the rest of their lives. Ginny was an office manager for Dr. Anthony Tripoli in Albany for 20 years until retirement in 1992. Survivors include her beloved husband Patrick F. Ryan; her loving children, Thomas (Barbara) Ryan of Clinton, Karen (Dr. Michael) Sbuttoni of Slingerlands, Kathleen (Gary) Franko of Latham, and Lori (Mark Edgar) Ryan of Auburn, N.H. Ginny also leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Ryan, Michele Thompson, Michael and Ashley Sbuttoni, Jason and Brendan Franko, Jason and Steven Edgar as well as thirteen adored great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Michael Ryan; twin-daughters, Laurie and Lorraine Ryan; her siblings, Ann DeCosmo, William Moore, Dorothy Flanagan, Catherine Moore, and her twin brother Johnny Moore. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday, August 3, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. Funeral services for Ginny will be celebrated immediately following the visitation at 1 p.m. in the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home with Reverend Nick TeBordo officiating. Entombment will take place in Graceland Cemetery, Albany. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in our mother's name, as this was her favorite charity.
