Betty Borge
Betty died Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at the New Richland Care Center in the presence of her family and friends.
Betty Ione Borge was born Aug. 7, 1954, the daughter of Marvin and Irene (Reim) Ramsdell in Albert Lea. She graduated from Alden High School in 1962 and attended college in Mankato. On Feb. 8, 1964, Betty was united in marriage to Richard Borge in Alden. After living in Albert Lea for a few years they moved to Alden. Betty worked for First National Bank in Albert Lea, then for Interstate Power where she retired from after 30 years. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she was active in circle and American Legion Auxiliary. She volunteered for the Alden food shelf, was on the Alden Area Development Committee and she was in charge of the Alliant Credit Union. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as well as fishing and traveling.
Survivors include her husband, Richard “Dick” Borge; son, Tim (Jeanine) Borge of Mantorville; daughter, Max Kleinschrodt of Alden; grandchildren: Nicholas Borge of Mantorville, Allison Borge of Mantorville, Brittany (Jared) Hanson of Alexandria, Jake Fawcett of Alden and Emma Kleinschrodt of Alden; great-grandson, Levi Hanson of Alexandria; sisters: Barb Opdahl of Pierce, Idaho, and Bonnie (Duane) Mutschler of Stillwater; sisters-in-law: Jean Ramsdell of Burnsville and Carol (Ray) Pederson of Albert Lea; and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Marvin “Ed” Ramsdell Jr.; and her brother-in-law Harlan Opdahl.
