Ann Combs, 91, of Macclenny, FL, entered into eternity on July 31, 2018. Born in Atmore, Alabama to Wilbur and Cora Shepherd, Ms. Combs was preceded in death by many siblings, her parents, an infant daughter and her son, Gary. She moved to Macclenny in the 50's following her marriage to the late Joseph Eddie. In 1956 her son, Joseph Michael, was born. Affectionately known as "Ms. Ann" by the congregants of First United Methodist Church of Macclenny, she was known for her tenacity and humor. Ms. Combs was an outspoken advocate for education and justice, helping to actualize many vital programs in Baker County.

Ann is survived by Mike, her son, and Sue, his wife; her grandchildren: Cate, Michael, Larry, Shanna, and Seann, as well as her great-grandchildren, Nolan and Joe; a sister, Madge; her daughter-in-law, Lorraine; and her lifelong friend, Jean Jones.

A funeral service to honor the life of Ms. Combs will be held on Saturday, August 4, at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Macclenny, Florida, with Reverend Tom Pope officiating. The family will receive friends, at the church, beginning at 10:00 AM (one hour before service). Her interment will be at Taylor Cemetery.
