Joe was born January 15, 1952 to Curtis and Ann Rogers. He was a native of Fort Worth and graduated from Western Hills High School in 1970 where he enjoyed football and track activities. After completing a four year union apprenticeship program, he received his Electrician License in 1976 and obtained his Master Electrician License in 2004. In 1986 he was employed by General Dynamics (now Lockheed Martin) where he continued working until his death. Joe was raised to a Master Mason in 1984 where he has been in good standing for over 34 years.
On August 7, 1971 Joe married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Helen Landsfeld. They were molded as one and enjoyed each other for many wonderful years.
In 1989 Joe made a life changing decision when he converted and embraced the Catholic faith. This enabled him to have the grace and courage to accept God’s will during the last and final cross he had to bear. He was a member and attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Aledo.
Joe enjoyed water skiing, snow skiing, and many outdoor activities with family and friends. Nature was his passion and he loved annual trips to Colorado where he experienced river rafting, snow shoeing, zip lining, fishing, hiking, silver mining, four wheeled adventures, and many other fun activities.
Joe touched many lives. Among them were his mother, Big Ann, and mother-in-law, Mama Betty. His vigilant caregiver nature enriched their lives immensely.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Curtis H. Rogers.
