Gene was raised in the Masonic Home from the age of five until he was fifteen. He was drafted into the U.S. Army at the age of 20 in 1953. He served two years. He was a Fire Fighter, EMT for Fort Worth 31 years. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church of Newark and a mason # 894 Chalk Mountain Lodge.
Freddie was preceded in death by parents, Oscar and Faye Davis; brothers, OL Davis, Roy Davis; and sisters, Ruby Kaye, Totsy Boydston and Ethel Weaver.
Survivors: Wife of 62 years, Sue Davis; son, Kevin Davis and wife, Dana; daughter, Pam Gresham and husband, Steve; granddaughters, Stephanie Grimmer and husband, Neil, Kortney Scott and husband, Eric; grandson, Justin Gresham and wife, Courtni, Zac Davis; 10 great-grandchildren.
