Janice attended schools in Denver. She was married to Charles D. "Papa" Matthews for 39 years. She was employed at K-Mart for 30 years, when she retired. Janice was a member of the Women's Auxiliary, Moose, Elks and Eagle in her early years.
Janice moved to Greeley in 1980. She had a big part in raising her grandchildren and great-grandson and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed having coffee with Linda, working in her flower garden with Kayla, talking about the Broncos over the phone with Jason, working on her yard with Josh, going to Central City with Charlotte, shopping with Shelby and spending time with Sarah and her boys.
Janice is survived by two sons, Jim Matthews (Julie) and Jack Matthews (Kellie) all of Greeley; seven grandchildren, Josh, Kayla, Sarah and Shelby Matthews and Jason, Riki and Jenna Raines and four great-grandchildren, Tanner and Mallory Raines, Taylor Matthews and Alex Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles D. Matthews, two sons, Gary Matthews and Jerry Raines and her brothers and sisters.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
