Grady Harrison Fox, a native of Stephens County, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018.

She was born September 11, 1923 to Henry Grady Harrison and Annie Fade Harrison.

She grew up in Breckenridge, attended local public schools and graduated from BHS in 1941. She later earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas Wesleyan College in 1946 and a Master of Library Science from North Texas in 1975.

Her career spanned some forty-two years as a classroom teacher in Lovington and Artesia, New Mexico, middle school librarian in Artesia; then as BHS librarian from 1976 to 1990. Finally, she was Director of Breckenridge Library for seventeen years and retiring in 2001. In addition, she was named Citizen of the Year by the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce in October of 2003. At the time of her death, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Breckenridge.

She was preceded in death by her two sons, Charles and Bruce; her parents; two sisters, Ruth Morton and Rubylee Miller.

She is survived by one niece, Alvis Cramer & husband Jerry of Breckenridge; one nephew, Woody Miller & wife Dorothy of Carrolton and a large extended family and many, many close and dear friends.

Services to celebrate the life of Grady Fox will be held at First Presbyterian Church at 11am, Saturday, August 4th with Rev. Andy Channer officiating. Private interment will follow at Breckenridge Cemetery where she will be laid to rest between her two beloved sons.

Her family has requested no flowers and to please make memorials donations to First Presbyterian Church, Breckenridge Library or a charity of the donor’s choice.
