Mary Monica Flood, age 78, of Cedarville, Michigan, died July 29, 2018, at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, Michigan. Mary was born September 15, 1939 to Francis Wells Robison and Alice Mary (Coen) Robison in Detroit, Michigan.

Mary grew up in Detroit and attended St. Philip Neri High School where she graduated with the class of 1958. Following graduation, she attended nursing school at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mt. Clemens, Michigan and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked there as an LPN and then for Eckelman, Kroon, and Kipp doctor’s office for many years.

Mary was introduced to Tom Flood by a mutual friend and they were married May 19, 1962 at St. Claire Montefalco Church in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. They started their family while they operated Tom’s Marine Hardware in Mt. Clemens. They attended the first Antique Boat Show in Hessel and began a tradition of traveling to the Les Cheneaux area every summer. They retired from the hardware in 1990 and began building their retirement home on Island 8 in Cedarville. They moved to it in 1995. They also wintered in Tavares, Florida each year.

Mary was a Girl Scout leader in Mt. Clemens and remained active for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Hessel, Michigan, and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Mt. Dora, Florida. She was a member of the Les Cheneaux Yacht Club as well as the North Star Sail Club in Mt. Clemens. She was also a member of the International Antique and Classic Boat Society.

Mary liked to be on the water sailing and boating. She belonged to the computer club and enjoyed all aspects of Girl Scouts. She was very active in both church parishes she belonged to. She made Rosaries and liked to do puzzles. She loved to spend time with her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her husband, Thomas Edward Flood; son, Kevin (Lisa Riegel) Flood of Mt. Clemens; daughter, Karen Marie Flood of Mt. Clemens; grandchildren, Kevin Thomas (Brianna Claire Kehrig) Flood, and Paul Joseph Flood. She is also survived by her brother, Francis James (Margaret) Robison of Sarasota, Florida; sister, Dorothy Ann (Robert) Weir of Troy, Michigan; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Marie Robison of Long Beach, California and Dorothy (Patrick) Degens of Mt. Clemens; and brothers-in-law, Michael (Diana) Flood of Chesterfield Township, Michigan and Gregory (Donna) Flood of Mt. Clemens.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Edward Patrick Robison.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at R. Galer Funeral Home at 24549 S. M-129, Pickford, Michigan from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will also be held at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, 261 Island View Road, Hessel, Michigan, 49745 on Thursday, August 2, beginning at 10:00 A.M. until Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 A.M.

Burial will follow at Edgewood Cedar Cemetery in Cedarville.
