Mr. Robert Ferrell "Big Al" Alexander, Sr., 82, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018. He was born in Hickory Crossing, NC and has resided in Jacksonville for many years. He retired in 1974 with 20 years service in US Marine Corps. He became a commercial fisherman and co-owned Ferrell's Seafood.
He was preceded in death by his brother, June Alexander and his daughter, Cindy. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Claudia Hall Alexander; 2 children: Goober (Gail) Alexander and Suzanne Roderick; 5 grandchildren: Amanda (Nick) Thornton, Benjamin Alexander, Cody (Miranda) Alexander, Nicholas Roderick and Carli Roderick Alexander; 2 great grandchildren: Lincoln Thornton and Averie Alexander; 2 sisters: Betty Harrell and Jerri Fennell; 1 brother: Richard Alexander and many friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Jacksonville National Cemetery with Rev. Tim Rigdon, officiating. Peeples Family Funeral Homes is serving the Alexander Family.
