She was born Dec. 20, 1960, to Lee and Virginia Hannah.
Followed by her husband and her five children, Shawnte Butler, Terri Thompson, James Thompson III, Derek Thompson Sr., Ashley Ledbetter; and grandchildren, Megan Butler, Caleb Butler, Courtney Thompson, Derek Thompson Jr., and Abigail Ledbetter.
A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 12 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Newton with Pastor Tommy Hullette officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:45 a.m., at the church, prior to the service.
