Betty was born on August 21, 1931 in Soper, OK to Henry and Zylphia Hall and passed away on July 28, 2018 in Edmond, OK at the age of 86. She was a cancer survivor since 1999. She was the youngest of 3 children. She was reared in Healdton, OK, along with her sister and brother and graduated from Healdton High School in 1949.
She attended Kilgore Jr. College in Kilgore, TX, where she soon met the love of her life and married V.J. Callaway in 1950 in White Oak, TX. They welcomed their only son in 1956, Craig Callaway, in Ft. Worth, TX.
Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years in 2012; her parents; her sister, Virginia Hall Black, Hobbs, NM; her brother Lt. Col. Julian H. Hall, St. Louis, MO. She is survived by her loving son and great caretaker, Craig; sister-in-law Oweeta Hall, St. Louis, MO; 2 nieces, Melissa Black Ingel, Peoria, AZ and Kathy Hall Grimes, St. Louis, MO; 1 nephew, Jay Henry Hall, MN; 2 grandnieces and 3 great-grandnieces; her extended church family and good friends.
Come-and-go visitation for Betty will be held on Tuesday, July 31 from 12-8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Crawford Funeral Service, 610 NW 178th St. Edmond, OK 73012. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 1 at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.
