Obituary of Joy L. Powell
Joy Lou Powell of North Richland Hills, TX passed away on Sunday July 22, 2018. She will always be remembered as a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Friend, and Colleague to all that knew and loved her. Joy was born in Tampa Florida on November 11th, 1934 to Loulia Ferrell Carr and Edwin Jordan Carr. Joy moved to Fort Worth Texas at the age 18 after graduation from Henry B. Plant High School in Tampa Florida. She held numerous positions with American Airlines from May 6, 1966 until her retirement on December 2nd, 1994. She loved her Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Stars. She enjoyed taking many trips with her friends and family. Spending time with her grandchildren and lunch with friends were her favorite ways to spend her days. Joy is survived by her daughters Pamela Powell and Jodi Foster, Grandchildren Bobby Powell & Lencia Powell, Brother EJ Carr, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and her loving fur babies. She was was preceded in death by her mother Loulia Ferrel James Carr, father Edwin Jordan Carr, and sister Virginia Lee Smith. The Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday July 26th, 2018 and the Graveside Serivce will be at 2:00 pm on Friday July 27th, 2018, both at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
