Charismatic and beautiful, Angela King, 48, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
Angela was born on October 2, 1969 to Raymond Pointer and Mae Helen Jackson. She grew up in Peoria, Illinois until moving to Blytheville, Arkansas in 1979. There, she attended and graduated from Blytheville Senior High School. In 1987, Angela moved to Hartford, Connecticut where she gave birth to three children. In 2000, Angela became the foster mother to a baby 2 weeks of age, whom she went on to adopt in 2003.
In 2004, Angela received her certification as a nurse assistant from Spoon River College. In 2005, Angela suffered an illness that left her in a coma for several months. Through perseverance, she was able to recover and regain her strength.
Angela was known for her generosity and loving spirit, always offering space in her home for family members or friends in need. Her family and friends meant the world to her and she was always there to offer them a listening ear, advice and countless laughs.
She was a pillar in her family, often organizing family photos and get-togethers with her famous lasagna. Angela held a special place in her heart for her nieces Kinnidi, Madysin, Mya and Airica. It was important to her that they build a relationship and spend time together, which she made sure to make happen regularly.
Angela is survived by her parents, Raymond Pointer and Mae Helen Jackson; her two daughters, Trevonna Hayle and Shakira King; her two sons, Xavier King and J’Siah King; her six sisters, Yolanda Jones, La’Angela Pointer-Cornish, Lisa Cooper, Shelonda Nickerson, Felicia Williams and Trena Ross; her three brothers, Christopher Jackson, Fabreon Jackson and Tarence Jackson; her honorary sister, Jessica Burse; her dearly loved dog, Pac; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
