"The Sedan Times-Star"(Sedan, Kansas) August 16, 1917 – Obituary

William McKinney passed away at his home at Foraker, Okla., at 3 o'clock in the morning Aug. 7th, 1917. The deceased was born in Illinois Sept. 30, 1870, was married to Mrs. Lorena Morris at Bartlesville, Okla., September 4, 1900. At his death he was 46 years, 10 months, and 7 days old.

He leaves to mourn his absence a wife and an aged father 74 years of age. He was laid to rest in the Peru Cemetery beside Mrs. McKinney's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William McLain.

He was a devoted man to lodges. He belonged to the following orders: M.W.A., W.O.W., Yoeman, Eagles, Moose, Red Men, I.O.O.F., Masons. He did not belong to any church but was a sincere man in his belief that there was an Almighty Being.

Rev. Brown of Elgin delivered the funeral address, after which the Masons took charge. Mr. McKinney was well known and respected in Foraker and will be missed by his many friends and acquaintances.
