She was born November 9, 1927 in Concord, NH the daughter of Henry and Roseanna (Cliche) Cloutier. She received her schooling in Concord and Windsor, graduating from Windsor High School in 1945. She married Norman E. Avery in Windsor on November 4, 1945. Mrs. Avery was employed at the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Windsor for ten years before leaving to raise her family. She was a loving wife and mother. She later was employed by Southeastern Mental Health Hartland Activity Center, Hartland, Vermont until her retirement. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor. She was fond of gardening, cooking, knitting, sewing and skiing. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and at the family camp on Lake Sunapee. Mr. Avery passed away on May 20, 2012.
She was also predeceased by her parents, one daughter in law, Jacqueline Avery, one sister, Loretta Wilson, a half sister, Alice Drouin and a half brother, Raymond Cliche.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathleen Avery of Windsor, four sons, Donald Avery of West Windsor, David Avery and his wife, Jean of Grantham, NH, Dennis Avery of Newport, NH and Darren Avery and his wife, Shelleen of Claremont, NH, nine grandchildren, six great grand children and several nieces and nephews.
Public visitation will be held Friday evening, August 3 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor. At Mrs. Avery’s request, private committal services will be held in the St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Windsor at the convenience of her family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis of Assisi Church at PO Box 46, Windsor, VT 05089.
