Connie Baker, 72, of Creston, died Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Clearview Nursing Home, in Mount Ayr, Iowa.

A Memorial mass will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston. Father Ken Halbur will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, west of Creston. Visitation with family receiving friends will be one hour prior to the Mass in the church basement (10 to 11 a.m.).

Connie Jean (Lynam) Baker, was born October 19, 1945 in Creston, Iowa to Velma Cleora (Nash) Price and Cloyd Olathe Lynam. She graduated from Creston High School in 1963.

On June 22, 1963, Connie married Robert M. Baker in Afton, at the St. Edwards Catholic Church. They lived and worked in Creston all of their married life. Connie was a Daycare provider in her home in the 1970’s. She then worked for Bunn-O-Matic in Creston, starting with the company the day they opened, until retiring in 2010. Connie also owned and operated Mulberry House Framing. Bob died in 2011. After a broken hip, in February 2012, and her health continuing to decline, she moved to an area nursing home.

Connie was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston, the Catholic Daughters of America and the Lake Shore Country Club of Afton.

Connie is survived by her son, David (Pam); a daughter, Bobbi (Lyle); five grandchildren, Rebecca (Blake), Elizabeth (Manny), Montgomery, Kennedi (Ethan), and Chase; five great-grandchildren: Eva, Sadie, Adrian, Noah and Liam; a sister, Susie; and a host of other relatives and good friends.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bob, her daughter, Julie Ann Baker, and four brothers, Russell, Wayne, Dean and Darwin Lynam.
