Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Friday, July 27, 2018. Dorothy was born November 23, 1927 to William and Anna (Theis) Schmitt. She married Alvin Schneider on June 5, 1950 and he survives her. She is also survived by her daughters, Diane (Mearl) Talsma, Evelyn (Ed) Sandborn, Kathy (John) McCormack, and Sharon (Bill) Spitzley, seven grandchildren, five step- grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two step great-granddaughters. Surviving are two brothers, John and Harold (MaryLou) Schmitt, three sisters, Mary (Ron) Trierweiler, Anna Feldpausch, and Martha (Ted) Williams. She was predeceased by her parents, granddaughter Kassandra Sandborn, two brothers-in-law Jerome Fox and Hilary Feldpausch, and sister-in-law Mary Schmitt. Dorothy worked for Quality Farm and Fleet, Toys R Us and volunteered for Sparrow Hospital McAuly League.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. John Klein as celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 PM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel with the Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue Thursday at the church at 9:30 AM. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Leukemia Foundation or St. Gerard Catholic Church.
