Injuries Are Fatal To Mrs. Enoch Castor

Well Known Woman Passed Away at Hospital Monday Night

Struck By An Automobile

Funeral Services ay Prairie Baptist Church Wednesday Afternoon

Mrs. Frances Ellen Castor, seventy-one years of age, and the widow of Enoch Castor, who, in his active days, was a well known farmer of the eastern part of the county, died at the Hamilton County Hospital shortly after 8 o'clock Monday night from injuries which she received Sunday evening, when she was struck by a car driven by Harold Roberts, of Castleton. The accident occurred on the west side of the public square and it is said that Mrs. Castor, in going across the street, stepped in front of the machines. Because Sheriff Baker learned that Roberts was operating his car at only 10 or 12 miles an hour he was not held.

Coroner C.M. Donahue of Carmel, who investigated the case, said he would rend a verdict finding that Mrs. Castor died from concussion of the brain, probably caused by her head coming in contact with the paved street and not from the result of being struck by the automobile.

The funeral will be held at the Prairie Baptist Church, in the northern part of Wayne township, at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Clarence Wilhelm, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, will be in charge of the services and interment will take place in the cemetery west of the church.

Since the death of her husband three years ago Mrs. Castor has been living with her son, Albert Castor, 28 Cherry Street this city. At the time of the accident she was going to the home of a friend in the northern part of the city for a visit of an hour or two.

She was born and reared in Hamilton County. She and her husband spend all of their married life in Wayne township and became the parents of a number of children, of whom the following survive: Alva, Harry and Albert Castor, of Hamilton County; Mrs. Verda Hunnicutt, of New Carlisle, and Mrs. Lena Layton and Mrs. Rose Aydlette, of Kokomo. Four children are dead. Two brothers, Lucian Castor, residing north of Clare; and Sampson Castore, of Alexandria, and three sisters, Mrs. Ida Litteral and Mrs. Frank Reynolds, of Noblesville, and Mrs. Cora McGuire, of Lapel, also survive. A half-brother, Ross Petry, of Miami, Florida, is also living.

The family was widely known throughout the eastern part of the county. Te funeral arrangements are in charge of Evas & Godby.
