Born in Jacksonville, N.C., he was a son of Hughie and Robbie (Lee) Harlan, Tompkinsville.
Other than his parents, survivors include two sons, Jason Harlan, Ferinand, Ind., and Randy Harlan, Birdseye, Ind.; a brother, Scott Harlan, Tompkinsville; a sister, Connie Owens, Bowling Green; and four grandchildren — Trent, Trevor, Triston and Trichell Harlan.
A son, Shawn Ross Harlan, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 11 at the Yokley-Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with Bro. Danny Wyatt officiating. Burial was at the Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
Serving as pallbearers were Roger Carter, David Humphress, Doug Lee, Harold Moore, Marty Murphy and Mike Williams. Honorary pallbearers were Pat and Neal Lee, Larry and David Carter, Yantez Murphy, Daniel Humphress, Larry Arnett, Paul Norris, and Roger and Kurt Moore.
