James Joseph of Mashpee, passed away at home on July 27, 2018 after a brief illness. He was the son of the late James J. Breen and Gertrude M. (Casey) Breen of Newton, MA. Jim was the husband of the late Joan Breen for the last 23 years and the late Barbara Breen for 33 years.

Jim is survived by his four children, Patti Anewalt of Reading, PA, Pam Breen of Manchester, NH, Jamie Breen of Concord, NH, and Michael Breen of Cumberland, RI. After Barbara's death, Jim married Joan (Flynn) Breen and became stepfather to her six sons. Jim leaves behind ten children, twenty-three grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. The third of eight children, Jim is survived by his three sisters and two brothers,

Born in Newton, MA on the eve of the Great Depression, Jim graduated from Newton High School in 1947. He was drafted during the Korean War and spent three years in the Army. He served in Korea and was awarded an honorable discharge with the rank of First Lieutenant. Jim spent the next 46 years in the printing industry. He started his career in various production jobs, then spent the next thirty years in sales before moving into management where he served as president and purchased the company. Upon retiring, Jim settled in Sarasota, FL in 1999 and Mashpee, MA in 2003.

His passions in life were his family, extensive travel, and his grand and great-grandchildren.

Burial in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Falmouth.
