Richard M. "Duke" Blevins, 60, of Quincy, passed away peacefully at 11:15 a.m. Saturday (July 28, 2018) in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born January 19, 1958 in Beardstown, Illinois, Richard was the son of Robert "Bob" and Linda L. Wade Blevins. He had been married to Judy Obert.

Duke moved to Euless, Texas when he finished High School and was employed for McKee Door Company. He later moved back to Quincy and was employed in the underground warehouses at J.M. Huber for several years. He was most recently employed as a driver for CRST Truck Company.

Duke was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Family was most important in his life and he loved the time he shared with them and especially loved being "Papa" to his grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Patience Omo (Geoff) of Quincy and Mary Blevins of Quincy; his son, Ryan Blevins of San Francisco, CA; his two grandchildren, Aaliyah Matson and Mekhi Grant; his father, Robert "Bob" Blevins of Quincy; two brothers, Robert M. Blevins and Raymond "Matt" Blevins both of Quincy; his sister, Tracie Pepper (Tom) of Quincy; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Blevins.

Graveside services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30at Quincy Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to attend.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy.
