George Donald Goodwin, 78, of Kire Lane, Ripplemead, VA., departed this life Thursday afternoon, July 26, 2018 at his home in the loving care of his wife. Born in Giles County on May 5, 1940, he was a son of the late Biggy and Ruth Harless Goodwin. Donald had been employed as a machinist. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Violet, brothers Ralph, Bobby, and Johnny and wife Ruth Brown Goodwin.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Teretha M. Manning (Weesie); his brothers Harold and Luther and his sister Mary Scaggs.
The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, Saturday morning from 9:00 until 10:00 am followed by a graveside service at the Goodwin Family Cemetery in Kire, near his home.
