Vermilion Today (Abbeville, Gueydan, Kaplan, LA) - Thursday, January 30, 2014
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 1, 2014 at an 12:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Euna Conque, age 91, formerly Euna Kilchrist. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Interment will be at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro and the Reverend Bill Melancon, Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Erath, will officiate.

Mrs. Conque was a native and life-long resident of Carencro, where she was a parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, a member of the Bonne Mort Society, and St. Anne Society. Along with her husband, she co-founded and was an integral part of The American Motor Club. Her love of reading, family, and faith were an inspirational model for her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren.

She is survived by her three sons, Judge Durwood Conque and his wife, Rusti, of Abbeville; Murray Conque and his wife, Arlene; Marc Conque and his wife, Cindy, all of Carencro; one daughter, Christine Hebert and her husband, Kirk, of Lafayette; one sister, Grace Nunez and her husband, Richard, of Lafayette; her beloved nephew Danny Nunez of Lafayette; twelve grandchildren: Andrea Conque, Ky Conque, Lance Conque, Esther Conque, Sarah Conque, Amy (Conque) Frederick, Alison(Conque) Canter, Ben Conque, Katie (Conque) Threlkeld, Adam Conque, Jonathan Hebert & Jake Hebert; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Louis J. Conque; her parents, Deonce Kilchrist and the former Cidalise Leblanc; and one brother Romeus Joseph Kilchrist, who died in infancy.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Conque, Kirk Hebert, Ky Conque, Ben Conque, Jonathan Hebert, and Jake Hebert. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Nunez, Richard Conques, & Guy Kilchrist. Readings, music, & the bearing of gifts will be provided by her grandchildren.

Visitation will be held for the public from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave., Carencro, LA. and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until services begins on Saturday.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home and a guestbook and copy of this obituary may be found online at www.melanconfuneralhome.net.
