Michael James Mullin, Age 79, of Edina - born November 18, 1935. Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his beloved family & friends on January 23, 2015 after a courageous 20 year battle with cancer. He always said that each time he had health issues that it was just another "Bump in the Road." He was determined to keep living a great life with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and he was willing to fight to the end to make that happen. He had an impact on the people in his life both personally and professionally. He was loved and will be deeply missed. A special thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and healthcare people who tended to him. Graduated in 1953 from Campion Jesuit High School and the University of Minnesota in 1961 after attending Marquette University and serving in the U.S. Marine Corps for 4 years. Michael entered the grain business in the early 1960's and followed in his father's footsteps by becoming a grain/commodities trader with International Multifoods. He trained In New York City, Kansas City and Minneapolis. Michael retired from International Multifoods in 1986 and started his own commodities trading business with his father called Mullin & Mullin Grain. While keeping Mullin & Mullin in operation he moved to Kansas City to work with Cereal Food Processors until 2006. When he moved back to Minneapolis working daily doing what he loved until a month before his death.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 28 years Dianne Lundblad Mullin, parents James and Elsa Mullin, brother-in-law Norb Winter. He is survived by his daughter Katie (Scott) Reddin, son Jim Mullin (Trish), sister Karen Winter; grandchildren Maggie, Ellie, Olivia and Isabella and many nieces, nephews and great friends.

Mass of Christian burial 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 3 with visitation one hour before at Church of St. Patrick, 6820 St. Patrick's Lane, Edina, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Frauenshuh Cancer Center (Park Nicollet) or donor's choice.
