George W. Howell, Jr., 73, of Hernando, MS, passed away peacefully, after complications from cancer, on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, TN with his family by his side. He was born on November 18, 1944 in Fall River, Rhode Island, the son of the late Mary Irene and George W. Howell, Sr. He was also predeceased by his sister Marion Howell.

George retired in 2016 from the Riverdale Apartment Complex where he worked as a maintenance tech. Prior to that he worked in photo finishing for Kodak for 25 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 53 years Shirley C. Howell; their son Jeff Howell and his wife Kimberly; two grandchildren, Jared and Kitara Howell, and many other family members.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Monticello Memory Gardens in Charlottesville, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
