HARTSELLE — Cecil Allen, 81, died Thursday, July 26, 2018. Visitation is today from noon to 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with A Celebration of Life Service at 2 p.m. Burial to follow in Roselawn Cemetery.

Cecil Allen, 81, of Hartselle, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018. Mr. Allen was born on September 23, 1936 in Lawrence County to Benton Lee Allen and Katie Frank Terry Allen. Mr. Allen was a member of The Church of Christ and he served in the United States Army. Mr. Allen worked at Holsum Bakery, Sunbeam Bakery, Aramark and retired from Hartselle High School and Crestline Elementary School as a custodian. He loved bowling, NASCAR and was a Die Hard Alabama Crimson Tide Football Fan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Agnes Jenkins Allen; his parents; and his first born daughter, Brenda Diane Allen McGee; daughter-in-law, Pam Cook Allen; son-in-law, Troy Green; two nephews, James Edward Pepper and Charles Pepper; sisters, Sue Pepper ( Russell ), Lucille Hilley ( Oscar ) and Tommie Hill; sister-in-law, Shirley Legg Allen.

Mr. Allen is survived seven children, Mary C. Allen Roy ( David ), Debbie J. Allen Green, Mark A. Allen, Pamela J. Allen Depreast ( Don ), Jeffrey B. Allen ( Frankie ), Jerry D. Allen ( Jennifer ) and James D. Allen ( Ashley ); 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Buford Lee Allen; sisters, Marie Allen, Anne Huckaby ( James ) and Faye Haggermaker ( Mike ) and a lot of Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Sunday, July 29 , 2018 at Roselawn Funeral Home at 2 :00 pm with Bro. Phillip Hines officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Junior Allen, Jimmy “Bubba” Allen, Jeffrey Allen, Don Depreast, Todd Roberts and Andrew Bozylinski .

Roselawn Funeral Home has the honor of assisting the family.
