Mr. Steve Larry “Blanker” Blankenship, age 70, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 in Reagan. He was born October 12, 1945 in Henderson County to the late James Thomas “JT” Blankenship and “Baby Ruth” Cherry Blankenship. Mr. Blankenship was the owner of Cody Outdoor Sign Company in Memphis, TN. He was a true artist and visionary and spent 50 years working on billboards and custom conversion vans. He was considered one of the best in his industry. He made a career doing something he loved. His favorite past time was spending the day on his Harley with his Twizted Brotherhood Family. Survivors include his daughter, Autumn Price (Jack) of King, NC; his son, Cody Blankenship; his sister, Carol Kelley of Reagan; his brother, Mark Blankenship of Arlington; his two grandsons (who were his pride and joy), Grant and Memphis; as well as extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by one son, Eric Blankenship and one sister, Belinda O’Brien. A celebration service and ride are scheduled for May 15 to Cabo Cemetery in Enville, TN.
