Emswiler, Dawson Miller and wife, Judy; five sisters; two brothers; 25 grandchildren; 43 great- grandchildren; and six great- great- grandchildren.

He was born in Rocky Ford, CO to Chester and Ida Jane Love on December 28, 1923. He was raised in La Junta, CO, where he graduated from high school and then joined the Army on May 12, 1943. He was a Private First Class during World War II where he served in Okinawa, Japan. He was wounded twice and received two Purple Hearts. He was honorably discharged on November 17, 1945. Charles had a long career working for the Santa Fe Railroad until retirement in January 1982. He was a member of the New Mexico Odd Fellows and Rebecca's IOOF for over 40 years, where he held numerous offices.

Whether he was called Dad, Pops, or Grandpa, he will forever be remembered as a very devoted family man who taught us all high standards and high morals by example. He was considered a man of all trades, and, as it seemed to those who loved him, there was nothing he couldn't do, whether it was as simple as making a homemade kite for his children and grandchildren or as complicated as mechanizing and construction, He taught us all that education was not to be taken lightly and it would lead us to a better life.

There was never a day that went by that his family didn't know that he was there for us to take our joys, sorrows and troubles to, and in his understanding and caring ways, he would celebrate our joys, sympathize in our sorrows or assist with a solution to our troubles.

His strong, loving spirit will be deeply missed by all.
