Gary attended Tri-Central High School before going to work for Cannon Trucking and then went on to work for Chrysler as a millwright for 24 years. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, playing cards and spending time with his family and dogs. He was a member of the Masonic Austin Lodge #128 in Tipton, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Kokomo, and UAW Local 685.
In addition to his wife, Patty Jarvis, he is survived by his mother, Lucy; son, Cody (Haley) Jarvis; step-son, Derek Bennett; step-daughter, Mishala (Tom) Burton; grandchildren, Clayton Jarvis, Makenzie Burton, Declan Burton and Riley Bennett; brother, Don (Tammy) Jarvis; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jaime, and brother, Mike Jarvis.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory with Steve Cole officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
