She married Arthur Bernal Hill on 21 December 1933 in Logan County, Ohio and they had two sons.

Obituary: "Hazel Marie Hill (nee Van Hyning), 96, of Norwalk, died Tuesday, January 16, 2007, in Norwalk Memorial Nursing Home. She was born February 21, 1910, in Jefferson Township. She lived in Vermilion for 51 years, moving to New London in 1998 and to Norwalk in 2000. Mrs. Hill was a member of the Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church and graduated from high school in 1929. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, flower beds and quilting. Survivors include her sons Henry James Hill of Prescott, Arizona, and Tom Hill of New London; sister, Helen Wilcox of Bellefontaine; and four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Hill, in 1999; her parents, James and Leota Mae (nee Wickersham) Van Hyning; brothers James ''Bud'' Van Hyning and Robert Van Hyning; and sisters Ruth Kelley, Kathryn King and Alice Van Hyning. Friends may call Friday, 6 to 9 pm, and Saturday from 11 am until the service at noon at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. The Reverend William A. Seith will officiate. Burial will follow in Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion. Memorial contributions may be made to Norwalk Memorial Nursing Home, 272 Benedict Ave, Norwalk, Ohio 44857."
