Margaret Elizabeth Coates married Alan Ralph Hicks in Petitcodiac, Westmorland County, New Brunswick, on the 14 February, 1953. Alan was born in Havelock, Kings County, New Brunswick, in 1935; his parents were Donald Hicks and Irene Atkinson. Margaret retired as Mortgage Manager with Royal Trust in Moncton. She was an active member of First Cambridge Baptist Church were she belonged to the W.M.S., sang in the choir and played piano. She was a former member of the Allison Baptist Church in Moncton. Margaret is survived by her mother, Florence Coates, of Petitcodiac, husband, Alan, daughter Judith E. Hicks of Riverview, sisters Edith Forestell (Michael) of Toronto, Ontario, Mildred Keith (Ralph) of Lower Ridge, Anne Coates of Summerside, Prince Edward Island, and Janet Coates-Mason of Petitcodiac. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sheila Hicks ,and brothers Jamie and Daniel.
