OBITUARY

Wallace, John "Jack" E. Sr. NEW BALTIMORE Jack "Wacky" Wallace, 82, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at home on Friday, July 21, 2017. He was born in Slingerlands, son of the late Charles and Genevia Wallace, and lived the majority of his life in New Baltimore. Jack was a graduate of Bethlehem Central High School. He worked at Foundry and Geurtze Builders and then started his career as a corrections officer for the State of New York. He retired as a fire and safety officer with over 27 years of service. Jack was an active firefighter for 61 years and past chief of Cornell Hook and Ladder Fire Department. The biggest joy in Jack's life was spending time with his family and his grandkids. He also was an avid fisherman, hunter and he loved camping and traveling. Survivors include his wife, Lynne Wallace; his children, Debbie (Paul) Davis, John (Frankie) Wallace, Diana (Scott) VanWormer, Michelle (Paul) Stefanik, Nancy (Andy) Stucky and Becky (Tom) Rosario; grandchildren, Devon (Justin), Jamie (George), Kyle (Cheyenne), Kristen (Greg), Matt, Kes, Scotty, Marisa, Ryan, Tommy and Bell; sister Marion Miller; brother-in-law Joe Gerber; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. Jack was predeceased by his wife and mother of his children, Joan P. Wallace; his sisters, Betty Gerber and Patricia (Bill) Dolder; and his brother-in-law, Paul Miller. Funeral services for Jack will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Interment will follow in Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, New Baltimore. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. Contributions in memory of Jack may be made to Cornell Hook and Ladder Fire Department, Cornell Hook and Ladder Fire Department, P.O.
