Kathryn “Kat” Stropp McKinney, age 77 of Knoxville, unexpectedly passed away Sunday July 22, 2018.
Kathryn was born in Mascot, TN to Nessie and Minnie Stropp on August 04, 1940. Kathryn previously worked at North American Phillips and Melaleuca and has been retired for the past 5 years. She previously attended Pratt’s Chapel and was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church.
Kathryn took joy in talking with family and friends, listening to gospel and country music, loved butterflies, hummingbirds, the color purple and enjoyed working in her flower gardens.
Proceeded in death by husband Bill McKinney; her parents; infant twin brother, Kenneth Stropp; brothers, Joe Stropp of Lutz, Florida and L.H. Evans of Mascot.
She is survived by her son, Keith Roberts (Darla) of Chattanooga; sister Mary Carr (Ray) of Kodak; brothers, Larry Stropp (Brenda) of New Market, Samuel Stropp (Sammie) of Knoxville; sisters-in-law, Lucretia Stropp of Lutz, Florida and Shirley Stropp of Mascot; step son Darrell (Laura) McKinney and many other members of the McKinney family of Knoxville; friends, Herman Hickson of Knoxville , Edna Ogle of Knoxville; several special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Receiving of friends will be held Saturday July 28, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with the funeral at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jim Duncan officiating. Immediately following the service an entombment service will be held at Eastview Memorial Gardens 1320 W. Andrew Johnson Hwy Strawberry Plains, TN 37871.
