Husband of Altha Gipson who passed away at age 90 on January 3, 2000 in Evansville, Indiana. His children (from his first marriage to Evelyn) include daugther, Betty Cannon of Indianapolis, and four sons, Harlan Gipson of Plainfield, Indiana, Joe Gipson of Greenwood, Indiana, Bailey Gipson of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Will Gipson of Naples, Florida.

My parents bought a farm during my senior year in high school. With it came a rental property. During most of the time that my parents owned the farm, they rented the extra house to Mr. and Mrs. Gipson. They were almost like family. Mr. Gipson passed away the same year my Dad died. Then Mrs. Gipson moved back to the Evansville area to be with her brothers and sisters. We kept in touch until she passed away.

His obituary from the November 7, 1994 Hendricks County Flyer:

Wilson Gipson, 85, of Plainfield, died November 1, 1994 at Transitional Health Care in Danville. He married Altha Stone, who survives. Gipson retired in 1971 after 22 years of employment in the core room of Chrysler Corporaton. He was a member of the Danville Christian Church. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Harlan Gipson, Will Gipson, Floyd J. Gipson and Wilson B. Gipson; a daughter, Betty Cannon; a brother, Bea Gipson; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home in Plainfield. Burial was at Spring Hill Cemetery in Cartersburg.
