Mary Ann Collins-Joyce, age 74, died on November 9, 2017 at home in Vero Beach, Florida, after a brief illness. Mary Ann was born March 23, 1943, in Miami Beach, Florida, the daughter of Henry and Ann Lamont. Mary Ann graduated from Miami Edison High School and attended Florida State University before leaving to marry her high school sweetheart, Raymond Collins, in 1962. Ray and Mary Ann enjoyed 38 years together before Ray's passing in 2000. In 1977, Mary Ann returned to school at Florida International University to complete a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. She managed hospital laboratories in Miami, West Palm Beach and Stuart for more than 20 years before retiring. In retirement, Mary Ann enjoyed gardening, traveling, crafts, art, and almost any outdoor activity. Mary Ann met the second love of her life, Michael Joyce, while volunteering at McKee Botanical Gardens. Mary Ann and Mike were best friends and constant companions for 16 years. Mary Ann and Mike got married in 2004. Mary Ann attended First Church of God and enjoyed the small group ministry and the women's ministry. Mary Ann is survived by husband, Michael Joyce, her children, Raymond Collins, Jr. (Lori), Mark Collins (Sarah), and Beth Hegab (Hisham), her grandchildren, Maggie, Rachel, Hunter, Nathan, Erica, Angel, Sarah, Jack, Sierra, and Alaina, her brothers, Tom Lamont (Barbara) and Bob Lamont (Eva), and a number of other relatives and close friends. There will be a celebration of Mary Ann's life on November 20, 2017 at 2 PM, at First Church of God 1105 58th Avenue, Vero Beach, FL 32966.
