BEDFORD — Preston Terry Rogers, 68, of Bedford, passed away at 8:20 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2018, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

He was born in Lawrence County April 3, 1950, to Ernest D. Rogers and Viola "Maxine" (Lee) Rogers. Terry graduated from Shawswick High School with the Class of 1968. He was a member of the Spring Mill F.O.P. and served four years in the Indiana National Guard. Terry is a retired Deputy Sheriff from the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department.

Terry married Jill Patton Rogers May 26, 1990, and she survives.

Surviving with his wife, Jill Rogers of Bedford; are his mother, Maxine Rogers of Bedford; one stepdaughter from a previous marriage, Missy Shaw of Mitchell; one aunt, Barbara Houtchings of Mitchell; one niece, Mandy Tanksley; and a nephew, Brandon Bevers.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest D. Rogers and a sister, Debra Bevers.

At Terry's request, private family service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 27, at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Cresthaven Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
