"There is an old cemetery located across Tunk. Creek from the center of East
Lemon. To locate it, one crosses the old bridge, proceeds straight ahead,
turns right, and after a short distance there is just the trace of a road to
the left up the hillside. It was once cleared for vehicles but is now in poor
repair. One must climb it on foot. Part way up on the left can be seen the
remains of the stone foundations of Etta Cook's childhood home. At the top is
the approximate location of Orville Ball's grave. There is no marker. The
grand old gentleman who raised his own large family and the children of
relatives, did not earn this show of respect from any of them. (1961)"

Mahala SHAW [Parents] was born on 28 Nov 1809 in E. Lemon,Wyoming Co.,PA.. She died on 29 Apr 1886 in E. Lemon,Wyoming Co.,PA.. She married Orville A. BALL.

Tunk Rep: 7 May 1886 - Mahala Ball, wife of Orville Ball, passed peacefully
away from earthly home and friends on Thursday last, in her seventy-eighth
year. Though for a long time she had been ill without hope of recovery, yet at
this time she appeared so much better that death came suddenly and
unexpectedly. She leaves a husband and several children, grand-children, and
great-grand-children. There seemed to be room in her heart of all a mother's
love to all. Old-fashioned hospitality (not so common as it once was) seemed
to be a failing with her and many a wanderer has found food and lodging beneath
her roof. East Lemon

They had the following children:

F i Paulina BALL
M ii Seth STARK BALL
M iii Theron BALL
F iv Lucy A. BALL
M v William BALL
M vi Charles BALL
F vii Living
