Lucy Frances Smith Moore, age 90, of Red House Road, Richmond, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Baptist Health in Richmond.

Born June 2, 1928, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Nelson Smith and Elizabeth "Bessie" Coffey Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Susan Marie Stevens, Beulah Fultz, Zelphia Smith, and Pearlie Kiser; two half-sisters, Lela Wescott and Lillie Mays; and two half-brothers, John Will Lykins and Chester Lykins.

She also was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Moore, who passed away September 28, 1997.

Mrs. Moore is survived by a son Darrell Moore; a daughter, Linda Rice and husband Tommy, all of Richmond; two granddaughters, Bridget McGovern and husband Sean of Richmond and Charity Patterson and husband Daniel of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; three great-grandchildren, Thomas Patterson, Gracen Patterson and Elaine McGovern, and other extended family members.

Mrs. Moore was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, quilting, canning, cooking, and will be remembered for making the best biscuits.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Randy Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Moore Cemetery on Christy Creek.

Pallbearers: Darrell Moore, Tommy Rice, Sean McGovern, Daniel Patterson, John Hanger, and Eddie Dale Moore.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
