Mrs. Mitchell, along with her husband, were the previous owners of Modern Business Machines of Lafayette. She was encouraging and supportive of her husband and daughter in their competitions showing horses and adored animals, especially her pets, Maggie and MiMi. She loved flowers and gardening, playing tennis, painting, sketching and art.
Survivors include one daughter, Andrea Mitchell of Lafayette; three nieces, Tara Morgan, Katie Ford and Angie Knight; five nephews, Jerry Mitchell, Darren Mitchell, Jason Mitchell, Paul Mitchell, and Michael Mitchell; one sister, Anita Clark of Pearland, TX; one brother-in-law, Barry Mitchell and his wife, Beverly, of Alexandria; her cat, Maggie and her dog, MiMi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart Evan Mitchell; her parents, Glenn Hightower and the former Louise Gibson; and one brother-in-law, James "Jimmy" Mitchell and his wife, Tibby.
The family requests visiting hours be observed from 5:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. Thrusday, July 26, 2018 and will continue at 10:00a.m.until time of service on Friday.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Ford, Dean Morgan, Travis Godley, Carl Lege, Jerry Mitchell and Barry Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Carlton Leger, Emery Clark and Harold Landry.
