Carol Lee Benson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed from this earthly plane into heaven on November 30th, 2017, in Johnstown CO. She died with her family by her bedside, surrounded by love, after a long hard-fought battle with cancer.

Carol was born in Alamosa, CO, on May 21, 1949. She was raised in Salida, CO, and Dodge City, KS.
Carol had a long rewarding career in the medical field. She was an LPN, X-ray technician and most recently she specialized in mammography. She truly loved her job as a mammographer at the Aurora Medical Center.

Carol was a loving mother, wife and friend and she treasured everyone she knew. After she survived breast cancer Carol retired and became a volunteer as a driver for the American Cancer Society. She drove cancer patients to and from chemo appointments. She was a talented gardener and she loved to be surrounded by beauty. Some of her hobbies and talents included quilting, running, baking, decorating and dancing.

She is survived by her husband Barry Benson; sister Sherri Walker, brothers Mike Parker & Darry Cooley. Two children: Christy and Casey Borden, two step children Amy and Eric Benson and her large extended family: 1 grandchild, 3 step-grandchildren nieces & nephews and countless friends.

Her celebration of life will be December 15, 2017, at 1:00pm at Foundations Church. 1380 Denver Avenue, Loveland CO 80537.
