Wilson, though most know him as "Rabbit", was born in Haynes, Arkansas to parents, Joe Wilson and Lena Crowley Ward. He moved to Jonesboro in 1973. He made his living as a farm hand for a while, but mostly worked as a concrete finisher. He became affiliated with the church family of Fisher Street Church of God in Christ under the leadership of his friend and fellow worker in the concrete business, Bishop Robert Stafford.
He is survived by a family who loved him dearly which includes his children, Ricky (Florence) Walker of Detroit, Michigan, Wayne Walker of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Danny (Frankie) Ward of Mesquite, Texas, and Zachary (Yvette) Ward, Sr. of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Debbie (Jerry) Lewis of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Valerie Ward, and Teresa "Tisa" Ward both of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Danika Walker of Harrisburg, Arkansas, twenty four grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Services are 11 am on Saturday, July 28, 2018,with Pastor Brandon Walker officiating.
Burial will follow in Old Harrisburg cemetery directed by Woodard Funeral Service of Jonesboro.
Visitation is 10 am until service time.
