Mr. Melvin Jenkins, aka "Bubba", age 65, was born on August 9, 1952, in Barnwell, SC to the late Bishop Ben and Evangelist Aggie Lou Jenkins.
Melvin graduated from Butler High School in Barnwell, SC. 'Bubba", as he was affectionately called, will be remembered for all the love he had and gave to his family and friends.
Besides his parents and grandparents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Ann Marie Jenkins; three brothers, Ben Jenkins, Jr., Edward Jenkins, and Linell Jenkins; and two sisters, Velver Lee Priester and Shelly Jean Jenkins.
He was married to Richie Dell Jenkins for 47 years. Our Heavenly Father saw fit to call him from labor to reward on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Laurel Baye Healthcare in Williston, SC.
Melvin leaves to cherish his fond memory: his wife, Richie Dell Jenkins of Blackville, SC; three daughters, Carmela (Johnny) Simmons of Barnwell, SC, Teresa Jenkins-Simmons of North Augusta, SC, and Latisha Joyner of Blackville, SC; two sons, Chris Jenkins and Boris Dyches of Blackville, SC; two stepchildren, Aretha and Richard Jenkins of Barnwell, SC; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three sisters, Gloria Smoak, Apostle Alean Odom, and Juanita (Harvey) Garrett all of Barnwell, SC; one brother, Eddie Jenkins of Barnwell, SC; and a host of nieces,

Note from Desmond Simmons on 15 May 2019: My gradfather is buried at Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery, Barnwell, SC. I know Bethlehem has two gravesites. The first one is at the church and the other one is in the woods; that is where my Grandfater is buried.
