A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Jeffrey G. Laible officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 26, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Peasley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
Rebecca Jean Masterson was born on April 18, 1951, in Lincoln, the daughter of Theron and Mary Eileen Bart Masterson.
She was united in marriage to Michael Stephen Thornton on June 1, 1974. He survives. Also surviving are one son, Stephen Robert Thornton; one daughter, Mary Katherine Thornton; one sister, Kathleen (Virgil) Lowe and two brothers, Jerry Masterson and Larry (Judy) Masterson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jim Masterson and Robert Masterson.
Becky graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1969. She retired from Lincoln Community High School as assistant librarian after 47 years of service. She was the 2017 Grand Marshall for the Homecoming Parade. Her hobbies included reading and travelling.
Memorials may be made to The Make A Wish Foundation or American Legion Post #263 Baseball.
