MELISSA A. SWIFT, age 43 years of Canton, formerly of Onsted passed away unexpectedly at her home. She was born on August 23, 1973 in Adrian, the daughter of Gerald L. and Carol A. (Harsh) Swift. Melissa graduated from Onsted High School in 1991. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and enjoyed camping, shopping, cooking and children. Melissa loved working with her patients at the Rainbow Rehabilitation Center in Ypsilanti.
Melissa is survived by her parents, Gerald and Carol Swift of Onsted, brothers, Derek (Tracy) Swift of Riga and Bradlee Swift of Onsted, nephews, Keegan and Brian, fiancé, Tom A. Jones and his children, Erin and Liam of Canton and numerous aunts, uncle and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Dunn Chapel, Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, from 1-4 P.M. Cremation will follow. Memorials are suggested to the Onsted Schools Educational Endowment Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
