Funeral services for James Morris Crowell, (better known as Kiser to his friends) age 92 of Unionville will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Gowen-Smith Chapel with Pastor Bobby Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow in Crowell Cemetery in Unionville. Visitation with the family will also be on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 1:00 pm until the time of service.

Mr. Crowell passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born on Saturday, March 13, 1926 in Bedford County to the late Thomas Crowell and Flossie Helton Crowell. He was of the Baptist faith and was a WW II veteran after proudly serving in the United States Army.

In 1946 he married Helen Corrinna Boyce Crowell of Unionville and she preceded him in death earlier this year.

Other survivors include his son: James "Jimmy" Crowell of Unionville, one brother: Allen Dale Crowell of Chattanooga, and three grandchildren.

Along with his parents, and his wife, Mr. Crowell was preceded in death by one brother: Clarence Crowell and four sisters: Pauline Kinna, Margie Arnold, Shirley Brummett and Janie LaFleur.
