"The remains of William H. Cross, who died at the Soldiers Home in Bath, NY on Friday were brought here last week and intered in Restvale Cemetery on Sunday. The burial being under the charge of Cross GAR post. Mr. Cross, for many years, a resident of Seneca Falls, Being a farmer south of the village, He served during the war as a member of the 50th. Engineers. The Grand Army of the Republic Post of this village took it's name from the Cross Family. He, having also 5 sons who entered the Service. He was 78 years of age. Two children, Mr. L.B.Cross and Mrs. Walter Thorp of this Village survive him."
