Dan attended St. Joseph Catholic School in York, NE as a youth. In 1968, the Myers family moved to Eagle Grove, IA where Dan was a 1973 Eagle Grove High School graduate. While attending EGHS, Dan was a varsity member of the wrestling and cross-country teams.

A career in agriculture began with Dan working at the M&M Research Farm, which transitioned into driving trucks. He ultimately rose through the ranks into Transportation and Distribution Management during his professional careers at M&M Livestock Products Co., and Gold-Eagle Cooperative, spanning over 40 years until his retirement last year.

As anyone who knew him will attest, Dan was very loving and giving while lifting those around him with his classic wit and trademark smile. Dan had many interests and lived life to its fullest. Travel adventures with his loving wife, Teri, topped the list, including riding motorcycles, live concerts such as Pink Floyd, and attending Nebraska Cornhusker sporting events. Dan was passionate about dogs, cooking, barbequing, great movies, or simply finding and giving the perfect gift to a friend or family member.
